On my next car (Benz S 500 Coupe) I was thinking of doing 3% all around. A buddy of mine does tints, and he told me that 3% is the darkest film you can get. Anybody know if there is a darker one exept the mirror tint.

You can't see at night while reversing

Just a thought - your call if you wanna go for it, but keep in mind if you're @ 5% or darker, you can't see a thing out the back at night when reversing, maneuvering in parking situations, etc.

Also, on sunny days, the light coming in the windshield is blinding relative to that from all the other windows.

Where i live, you can't even get away w/ tint on the front side glass without getting a ticket. Two of my friends had 20% applied to the back & all side glass of their cars & both were cited with a fix-it ticket to have it removed (front driver/passenger glass) within 2 weeks of the tint job.

The cops around here don't have enough real crime to keep them occupied - I guess I'm thankful for that. Ymmv, of course.

I never been pulled over specifically for tints, but I've been given tickets for the tints after being pulled over for something else. Most cops around here will let you off the hook for a moving violation by giving you a fix-it ticket instead, although some give you both.

If you look at my car, the back is 5 percent on 20 percent and 5 percent all the way around. No one can see inside my car in the day time, thats what I love.

Yeah, just paint your windows black.

PS
Anything under 35% (35% of light passing through) is illigal.

Let's not bash the cops, ok?

I've had 5% all around w/ a 12" front strip for over 2 years and I've had absolutely NO problems.
