Computer reset

Hi there
I just got my new exhaust system put in (y-pipe, catalytic converter, cat-back exhaust) and i'm getting check engine light all the time. I was told that it might be becuase of the computer not reprogrammed or something like that. I figured that if i reset the computer, everything will be fine...how do i do that??? I also heard that unhooking the battery and hooking it back up will do the trick but i'm not sure about that...Help me out cuase this is really bothering me.

Thanks

It is supposed to be be hooked up.

Hook it up, reset your ECU, then go kick your "mechanic" in the nuts.

Which one of those helps the problems more? One will take care of the problem now and one will make sure it doesnt happen again.

allright i did that...by resting the ECU u mean hooking the battery off and hooking it back on? Because the light is still on...
