got pulled over by police need to put quite muffler

this friday i got pulled over by a cop on the berlin turnpike he said exhaust is to loud and he sent me to inspection im going to change all the piping so it's no big deal here is my?
I'f i leave my cattman y-pipe and piping and cut off perfomace muffler and put on a stock 2001 muffler will i blow out the muffler with all the backpressure i need to know. thanks

if you get sent to an inspection station, i would say take the cattman y-pipe off...cuz they'll be looking closely for violations because you were sent to the inspection station for a reason....

put the stock muffler back on and leave all the piping and you should be fine

Bummer! My Harley is WAAAAY louder than any Maxima I've heard, and no one gets pulled over around here on a Hog ...

hey would putting a stock muffler back on at inspections help emissions readings out if you have a y pipe on?
with the baffle would it do anything different for the levels? (i guess at least a stock muffler would make you look less suspect)

I don't think the muffler will matter. If you are getting smogged, make sure the engine is good and hot before you go in, so the lack of pre-cats won't show up. I went in only half warmed up, and the car passed on the second try (back to back). First run it was too cold.
