fog light installation on my GXE was difficult

I thought it would be a cinch like everyone said...the steps seemed simple enough. But when I went out to my dorm's parking area, I worked on the car for a looong time...

Cutting the bumper was really difficult...I thought my heavy duty exacto blade would do it...but apparently, the bumper was a lot thicker than I thought (later I found out it was a replacement bumper...hmmm).

Anyway, I'm done with the install, but I have a few questions.

For people that have done this...you know the black gasket that goes around the area you cut? is that supposed to show on the outside? Mine really stands out for some reason...esp since my maxima is beige.

Secondly...the left fog lamp seems to stick out 1/4''...it's not totally flush with the bumper...what can I do to fix this?

Lastly, if I wanted to tweak with the aiming and/or change the bulb, how would I take off that inner "filler" reflector? The part that isn't really part of the lamp but looks like it is...

Thanks for any help.

I just installed mine the other day. Cutting definitely took the longest time. I also have that black gasket around, but it doesnt look too bad on my white gle. Does this black gasket come standard on se maximas with fogs? My fogs, fortunately, lined up pretty ok.

Could you guys maybe do a right up. I would love to install fogs on my 96 GLE. Also, did you happen to take pics? Thanks in advance.

The Instructions that come with the kit are pretty clear. You don't need anything else. All the wiring is there, just plug it in, and switch your shifter around the steering wheel. Its simple.

does anyone think the gaskets are necessary? i'm thinking of taking them off...and just putting touch up paint on the parts that are kinda chipped...I'm thinking it'll look A LOT better.

Anyway, I'll search rigth now, but just incase I don't find it, could anyone tell me how to remove the inner reflector piece to access the bulb and aiming screw?

thanks
