I just put my rims on and my car shakes and rattles like hell. I know most of the shaking is due to the bigger rims size, but the rattling was there before i put my rims on. It usually only rattles when i'm stopping and it sounds like it's coming from my dash. Any suggestions on how to get rid of it?

 

You'll have to learn to live with it. But check and make sure your lugs are tight again just to be on the same side. Oh, and get and alignment.

Your best bet is to isolate the source of the rattle. Have a friend drive the car so you can concentrate on locatinf the rattle.

Typically, it's the a-pillar trim and the center console that rattles. If you really want to, you could remove your center console and drive around, if the rattle is gone then try putting some urethane foam between the decks and make sure no screws are loose. If you can, also put a small lining of foam on the metal bracket where it comes into close contact with the rest of the dash, hopefully that will kill the rattle.

It might also be the wiring harness .. you could put foam on all the harness takeouts in case they are touching anything and causing the rattle.

I personally have a 'chirping' rattle whenever I go over severe bumps and it sounds like it's coming from the dash ... I've given up on that (for now).
