what types of front strut tower bars are you guys using? i don't have one yet, but i found a couple on ebay for pretty cheap. they usually are going for $20-$40. are any of these worth having or is there a sho' nuff good un out there i need to get. i figure just having one will be better than nothing...

Yeah having one is better than nothing. I have the Stillen one but I keep hearing that all of them perform the same, I just got the stillen to show off . It performs pretty good too though. But if you're tight on ca$h then just get any and it'll do the job.

P.S. make sure you get one though, the difference it makes is crazy.

I have the CustomMaxima.com one and it works great. Nice polished finish and very durable. It's not as showy as the Stillen one, but with a little paint and some vinyl that can all be taken care of.

You should save up and pay the nearly $200 for Stillen.

All of their stuff is superior and worth everypenny.

yea i agree with getting a stillen....i use to have a matrix fstb and it kept rubbing against my A/C pipe i had to take it off...the stillen fstb doesn't even touch the pipe...so i guess the extra 150 bucks for me was money well spent

works fine

I got my FSTB from an Ebay auction. directcarparts@hotmail.com was who I got it from and it worked fine and looks good--polished aluminum with black "C" connections. The strut clears everything it needs to on my "99 SE. There are also FSTBs sold in the parts for sale forum. From a functional standpoint, I don't see why you would spend more money. The FSTB is a brace so I don't see how one piece of aluminum (within reason) is going to brace better than another.

Wow, I spent like 80 cents on a length of foam pipe insulation and solved that problem.

Consider buying from Stealth Max:

-he's an org member, good guy, great businessman & fellow enthusiast. Give your $ to him instead of some big anonymous mailorder co.

Good bar, fair price. ($45 including shipping, anywhere in the lower 48 states) Check the posts in the thread - lotsa happy campers.

I have had the Courtesy bar in front for a long time and just recently added the rear bar as well.

I just installed a Matrix bar last weekend on my 96 SE. It's close to the A/C pipe, but not close enough to touch, maybe 1/16" clearance. I bent the A/C bracket towards the tower to give it a little more room and put a piece of rubber in the gap for cushion. Hopefully my A/C lines don't flex too much in hard corners

Front/Rear Strut Tower Bars Question

Hey guys i was thinking about getting a front tower bar and i was wondering if this is something easy to install or what the procedure is? Is there drilling or any modifications needed?

It is hands down the easiest thing you will ever install on your Max. Well, with exception to valve stems.
