digital clock problems on 95 Maxima

I have a 95 maxima gxe and I have a problem with the digital clock on the dash. It keeps turninig on and off even with the car on. I don't know exactly what causes it but if anyone can help me I would appreciate it greatly, by the way thanks guys for the info on my previous question about the blower fan.

Happened to me on my '95. It is a sign that is telling you that it going to die pretty soon. Soon after mine started flashing, and not coming on at times, it finally quit. I thought it might have been a bad connection or something. Checked the wires, still good! It was just the element in the clock that burned out. Very expensive part to replace for such a small unit. Nissan wanted about $200.00 for that thing. Luckily, I found one at a local junkyard for $20.00! They allowed me to hook it up before buying and it worked! This then told me my old one went bad. I hoped this helped any.
