A friend of mine bought a '95 GLE Friday in MINT condition. He called a dealer to have the fogs installed and the Technician said that "if" the car isn't pre-wired for the fog lamps it would cost an extra $100!

Are all years and makes of 4th Gens wired for fog lamps?? Has anyone heard of a 4th Gen that wasn't pre-wired for them?

That tech. is trying to rip your friend off, all 4th gen are pre-wired he can even install them him self like what I did on my 95 GLE.

This is what I thought as well. But, it made me think that maybe he really did run into a Maxima one time that wasn't prewired...or more likely he is just your usual don't-know-anything-Nissan-Technician.

 

yup just look in the foglight hole and there should be a gray plug thats where they go peace

 

i have 95 max GLE also and all GLE's and SE's are prewired but GXE's are not, well from feedback from people on this board. I installed fogs on my car and the wires are taped up top but they are the only wires you will see up there so just cut the small tape and hook it up. some people on this board with lower end GXE's 95-96 and some 97 say they weren't prewired and had to pay for the wires and stuff but your GLE is 110% guaranteed prewired....hope this helps

 

Maybe it is only wired for them if the car has the Comfort and Convenience Package ...and since all GLE's have everything in that package as standard...they should all be wired!! At least that makes sense to me. Thanks for all your help everyone.
