Altezza

I was planning on buying euro taillights for my car. I have two questions. First, are the lights at all of the websites for the 95-96 maxima the same light, or are there more than one design euro clear for maximas? Second, which site has the cheapest euro-lights? Thanks a lot!

leave the kid alone...

Hey leave the poor kid alone, any mod in my book is better then stock. HE asked a question we could at least help him out here...

I got mine from custommaxima.com but you can get them wither on the .org f/s area or the ever popular ebay.com

They are pretty much all the same and made by APC and for the record I get compliments on mine all the time (mostly 20-25 year old girls) so suk it! Haahha

mzmtg is correct, get a real mod. the tail lights are over-rated, besides it just looks like the max is having an identity crisis trying to be like the IS300 or the riced-out hondas. performance mods give much more, especially since you're gonna dirve the car.

Maxima tail lights are too big for altezzas.

Red/Clears are the way to go.

don't flame him

I agree, that dinging someone for getting a mod you don't personally approve of is rather obnoxious. Fine, if someone asks "Should I get them?", share your opinion. But if someone wants to get them and has questions, don't whiplash them with "Don't get them!!"

In doing a little research, I've heard there is one or two manufacturers of these Altezza tails for the Maxima, but re-badged under different brands. From what I've seen, they look identical. The 97-99 versions are different from the 95-96 ones in design, aside from the lack of the trunk indentation lines. There was rumor that the first production run was shoddy, and that they would leak in rainy weather. Also, there was a rumor of ones that have amber turn signals, but I've yet to see them.

The general consensus appears to be that the Chrome ones are best for light body paint, while the Black Chrome or Carbon Fiber ones are best for dark body paint. But your opinion could easily differ. You should also consider painting them to match your body color, as the famed Sexima did with his. Hey Sexima--if you're reading this, how is that paint job holding up?

Reasons not to get Altezzas or even clear corners(at least for 3-gens)

You spend $xxx dollars to put a part on that features a build quality WORSE than the oem one. I have read more than a few cases where the materials are cheap and are leakprone. Looks aside(but IMHO Altezzas with chrome in not appealing in the least), it seems ridiculas that someone would do this.

If you spend your hard earned money, at least spend it on something that's built right whether it's for performance or looks.
