Knock Sensor....the zoom is back

I replaced my knock sensor and wow. I have POWER again. The low/mid is amazing. High end....well lets just say that I need a new flex in y-pipe.

Yes, I recently replaced mine at 105,000 and noticed an immediate improvement. I would reiterate this observation. Now, she runs fast again. Just don't let the dealer do it $$$$$$. Learned the hard way.

welcome to the 95-96 knock sensor club. I replaced mine about 6 months ago and NY96MAX just did his when he came to CT.

So you guys got the knock sensor code? ...or you just replaced it because it's old?

About 170 at your local dealer and about 140 from courtesynissan.com make sure you mentione Maxima.org for your discount.

I just replaced mine too. is that club open to 98's

I replaced mine 2 weeks ago and guess what, old sensor had 3 deep cracks, I could see electrical components of KS

when does that thing have to be changed???( i.e. what mileage, or how many years)

I got mine for $125 from Extreme Nissan. They are located here in Louisiana, so I don't have to worry about shipping, just go and pick it up.

Replaced mine last month, along with all new NGK plugs. Didn't feel any significant improvement for that my sensor had been bad for about a year! Also, upon removing old one, mine was cracked,too. Wonder how that happened?

Well based on lately it seems most 4th gen ones have been going. I would say maybe around that 5 year mark or so.

huh?

ok, I'm new at this so be gentle. How can I replace my knock sensor? will it be in my chiltons? can u can reprogram it???? wow. I'm blown away.
