Has anyone ever seen their factory alarm activated? It will flash blinkers and honk horn, right? What about headlights?
Also, what will set it off? Shattered glass, collision, popped hood or trunk???
What about starter kill?

Thanks guys,

Justin

Factory Alarm

Your headlights will also flash. To set it off once activated: Opening of a door, hood or truck. It uses switches like for the dome light. So if someone broke a window and never opened a door....your alarm will never go off.

There's a chip in my key for the starter kill. There is no shock sensor.

Have armed mine and tried to set it off. Never have. Makes you wonder what kind of security you got!

Yeah, all factory alarms are pretty much worthless. Not only do they not offer much protection, but any moron with an FSM can defeat it in a hurry. A good aftermarket security system is the only way to go. Concealed components, multiple sirens, back-up battery, switches for all openings, current sensor... It's too much for a thief to deal with effectively.
