Dropping the Maxima
Alright guys...I've heard alot of things here... I want to know what you guys think is the best way to lower my 97 SE. I've got the stock SE rims, with 225/50 Yoko A520's. I'm thinking of keeping that setup and just lowering it- the wheelwell gap is just awful! Tell me the best way, and cost as well....no cutting springs, please... and if someone knows of a setup to launch better, all the better for me!

what do you ultimately want? sport ride, comfortable ride, or ultimately rally car ride....i mean do you mind a bit of harshness, or don't even care? And whats your budget? You could get springs and struts/shocks or invest in coilover sleeves(like Ground Controls) or true coilovers like Cattman's or JIC's...

H&R'S= nice ride you still have gap in fenderwell
Eibachs=nice ride you still have gap in fendewell
dropzones and Intrax= almost nice ride 3 finger fenderwell gap
sprints=okay ride 2 finger fenderwell gap
ground controls and weapon R's are fully adjustable coilovers that will drop your car below 2 inches, ride quality ask the people that have them on their car, as well as the Cattman coilovers. I can t comment on coilovers but I can speak for my setup, I have intrax with one coil cut in the front and Koni adjustables. Ride is alright and is great when I set the shocks for a soft ride, faster rebound.
Before you purchase springs look at what other Members ride looks like prior to buying and dont go thru two sets of springs like I did before finally getting the drop that I wanted on my car, which is a 2 inch drop.

Thanks for the input...by the way, I don't care about ride comfort- I used to drive a very stiff 2nd generation RX-7, and the rear end on that puppy would skip if the bumps on the highway were bad enough. I just want to lower it so that there's not really any gap in the wheel wells....with my stock rims....the only rims I'd get are the ADR Kasai in black. Let me know if you think of any more....oh yeah, ball park prices would be nice!
