I have em, I like em.

They are just a little whiter and just a little brighter than stock, which is exactly what I wanted.

They are not "hyperwhite" or "xenon" by any stretch though...

Ive got them on another one of my cars, and compared to a standard bulb, they are a lot whiter, and brighter. I did a side by side comparison of the Sylvanias, and the Philips (Blue Vision i think), and the Sylvanias to my surprise were better. The best Non blue tinted bulb on the market in my opinon. Nothing Like a real xenon kit but hey, If ur replacing the standard bulbs its worth the extra little cash.

i had the cool blues. they were pretty good. One of them burnt
out so i decided to try the phillips blue vision.
Blue vision as far as i could tell gave better light so i have
stuck with them.

Another vote for the Philips BlueVisions. Had them in my 95 and they were brighter and whiter than stock and lasted over a year right up to my accident.

I believe Sylvania Cool Blues are just repackaged Philips BVs.

i was "given" a set of Sylvanias by my friend when he worked at autozone, i've had them for a while, and havent burnt out yet. I love them, not blue, which is what i wanted. just very white. i think they are decently brighter than stock too. i would recommend them highly.

For the cost and reputation that Sylvania has (good) there is no easier style to go with...we sell them and three other brands in our Pep Boys stores and I always suggest them over the smaller more fancy , more costly bulbs...we do not carry any overwattage so they all put out the same light...just others are segregated into our APC and the like section so people come there more than the regular light aisle. Sometimes they take my advice, sometimes they don't.

i have the sylvanias as well...like 'em...but have one question, what bulb can i put to match them for the cornering lamps?...i put in some cool blues or something today, forgot which brand, and they are definitely whiter and more bluish than stock, but also a little more bluish than the sylvanias...so anybody have some ideas?...also, about the shaving a nub off the bulbs to make the corners brighter...has anyone had any problems with doing this?...running the corners at higher wattage?

Are the sylvania's the same wattage as OEM? Like they won't burn out wires and melt sockets like I have been reading in some posts.

I tried both the Slyvania Cool Blues and Xtravisions and the light shown against a garage wall from about four feet away made the Cool Blues look brighter so I stuck with them for about 5 months. I also did the same comparison against the Phillips Blue Vision and I didn't see much difference.

After educating myself and learning that guaging headlight performance from a wall four feet away isn't a good test for actual headlight usage unless you're always driving behind someone four feet ahead of you, I tried a myriad of bulbs (search for my post about my experience of these bulbs) and I wound up going back to the Slyvania Xtravisions since they toss out the most light that sticks on the road under stock bulb wattage of 65/45.

originally i had stock headlights and stock corner bulbs, and had reversed the corner bulb to match, AFTER i got the Cool Blues, the match was allll done. I got some Japanese (i dont know what brand, from a friend) bulbs that have a blue tint to them, and with those on the 27w (i think they are 35w bulbs however) filiment, they hardly match at all.. leaving them the way they should be installed stock (non-reversed) they match decently, and just more blue when my directional is on. so in an attempt to match the Cool Blues, my corner bulb mod was lost but its all good... i dont **** off AS many drivers now...

Re: sylvania cool blue 9004

i've been using both the cool blue's and the blue visions for the last year or so. i can totally recommend them on look - either type are brighter than stock and definitely stick out in the midst of all the boring yellow's on the freeway

my big complaint is that they last about 2-3 months. i keep two spares in the car, cause they always seem to go when it's just before dusk and i'm a long way from home seriously, the burn out like crazy in my 2kSE. don't know why - i do drive w/ them on a lot (lots of foggy, rainy, misty days in Seattle) but they still seem pretty short-lived.

that's my deal,
