Flip flop trunk ques

My friend wants me to help him do the flip flop trunk mod. (not really my thing) Has anyone done it? What hardware is needed? I know its on Ebay but I figured if some one has done it he wouldn't have to get it off ebay and wait for instuctions since he wants to do it today.
BTW I did a search and found the other thread on it but I was looking for some more detailed intructions and pics.
Thanks

The ebay kit is real cheesy and a scam.....

...someone already did it here and posted pics(less I dreampt that).

I think its simple as unscrewing the arms from the lid, drilling holes for hinges, and screwing them in, maybe theres a spring involved somewhere to keep it level once its flipped up.
