Smell

I have a 99SE with about 45k on it. Everytime that I come to a light or stop and the windows are open I get a wierd smell. My guess is that it is something comming from the exhaust. Any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

rotten egg...probably means it is your catalytic convertor...
search the .org! (see up in the top-right of the screen)

I think i've read that this is a fairly common issue.

If you have a new catalytic, then I would definitely say this is the cause...but, please search!

No I haven't gutted out the cat and I haven't really noticed a performance loss, so I really didn't think that the cat was clogged. I read on another thread to change the type of gas your using. I dno maybe I should just get a new cat.

Try a different brand of gas. Works for me when I get the smell.
