Racing.

- I have personally never been beaten in my stock Max by any 4-bangers. So that would include all those pesky little Civics, Accords, Integras, Eclipses, BMW 318's, and Cougars. Within the 6-cylinder range, I haven't found many who were willing to go. A stock Max should whup a V-6 Cougar and be quicker than an Acura 3.0Cl and a BMW 528/325/323. Beware of BMW 540's, 328's, and the new 330's. You should beat many Mercedes, V-6 Mustangs, V-6 Camaros/Firebirds, and just about any domestic sedan (Chevy Imapala's, as ugly as they are, are fairly well-matched, though).
- Your 0-60 time is in the 7's. It depends on your launch and your shifting as to how quick you can be. The fastest I've ever read about in a stock 4th generation was a 6.9 second run (that was only once, with ideal conditions). Mostly, think mid-7's. Look up some times for other cars and go hunting. Also, know that most 4-banger racers around my town only do cosmetic work - wimps. Even then, it takes some money to get their little rice-rockets moving. Don't fear the 4-bangers. If they beat you, know that they have spent enough money and deserve the kill.
- ALSO - You can be ticketed by the cops for wheelspin. If they hear it and catch you, it's points on your license and about a hundred dollar fine. Be smart when and where and with who you race. Let THEM get the ticket, save your money for better tires and a new clutch. ;-)

Don't worry about drag racing Maxima's have plenty of power to hold their own. If you want to autocross or road race. My experience is that Maxima's plow like crazy. They definately need a rear strut brace and a balanced dose of power in the corner to help "drive thru the corner"
