Greasing alternator bearings

Has anybody done this?Just wondering as a bad bearing attributes to 90% of alternator failures.Can/should the alternator bearings be greased??

You can't grease them but you can replace them. Bearings have a number stamped on them, call a local bearing supply house. There cheap too, like 12 - 20 bucks each. While your at it, replace the brushes and clean the armature with emery cloth. Nissan probably sells a brush kit for it or you can get them at any rebuilding shop.

Total cost to rebuild your alternator, provided all your electronics are good should be around 50 bucks.

Sealed bearing... no grease.

Press it out if you can and replace. It's the only fix...
