By the way, doing the driver side door multi-color looks pretty cool too. I've changed mine twice now...
Originally had it red and blue, now it's red, blue, green, and yellow. None of the LEDs are very bright (made sure of that) so the color combination looks pretty cool.
Gonna get some pictures once I can afford film.

no since the window switches are already leds, there are resistors in place, so you need to get leds that are between 3-5v, so make them work

GEO that's a nice write up on your A/C wiring job. I had done the same thing. I ended up removing the led's because they weren't bright enough. I ended up putting glass stain on the back sides of the buttons to get them to light up blue. Didn't work much better. I think I may reinstall led's, but I'm probably going to try to locate them directly behind the switches.
Since you seem electrically inclined I'd recommend you put leds in the switches cc/hazard/defroster/and dimmer. I did it in mine with the 276-311 and everyone loves them. You'll have to put a dropping resistor in but you know how to do that.

For those that are wondering about 97+ rear switches, here is the best info I have on where to wire things. . . If you have any questions it was submitted to me by maxximus75@excite.com (his member name wasn't listed in the email and I couldn't find a SN that matched any info I had). I haven't tried it myself so I don't know how it works or any issues resulting from it.

My hazard switch on my 95 SE should be just like yours. One light behind the white triangle emblem surrounded by red on the front of the switch. The white section is the part that illuminates. There is no red filter on mine and I don't where you would have one on yours. The white can light up whatever color you want.

Re: Re: Re: Security Light?
would you be interested in doing mine for a nominal fee? i could send you the defrost button, hazard button, AC unit, dimmer, cruise control, security, door switches, and anything else you can come up with and you could wire up RED led's in those places for me.. i will pay for shipping of course both ways and then whatever the cost of the LED's plus your time. i emailed you, no response.

I might have deleted it by accedent i get alot of junk mail, so sorry for not responding. the only problem is that i have finals comming up and since im graduating i need to spend some extra time on school, however if you like as soon as i get done with school, i can defenetly wire all these up for you. I also would like to get all the other lights done in my car first so that i know exactly what im doing. so give me a couple of weeks and email me(i wont miss this one) and well talk to see what we can do. In the mean time ill see if i can find some red LED's for you.

So let me get this straight. If i want to replace the stock greenish lights in my windows buttons and lock buttons on both the driver and passenger doors, i can't just replace the leds, i would have to have them re-sodered on? Is that correct. I have a 1998 Maxima

i must say the window switches were a very easy mod to perform...
something most people here can do. Even if your afraid of useing a soldering gun...
I practiced for about 10 minutes on a cheap electronics board i had lying around, then said screw it and did the real thing.
I'll probably start working at the center console sometime this summer.
Just damn LEDS! freaking expensive for blues.
RED/GREEN! damnit those are cheap!
...... but blue looks very nice.

What are blues going for?
Also, would the same size lights for the window buttons work for the AC light, and the air flow direction lights? Cuz those are green as well. Good thing there is only 1 button on the passenger side
If i make this change to my window button colors, is it recommended to do the rears? I won't really be showing off to anyone, just for my own satisfaction.

Did you use the brighter LEDs? I used the 300 mcd LEDs and I'm gonna switch to the 2600 when I get the time.
