NEED Help On Decision!
NEED Help On Decision!
I know this is not the place to ask this question but you guys have proved to me in the pastthat you are knowlegable.
Hey whats up? I am in the market for a car. I want to modify it eventually to the point where it runs 12 - 13 second quarter miles. My decision would be easier if I could just get a rear wheel drive car but the weather where I live makes it impossible to have a RWD car. SO I either need a front wheel drive car or AWD car. I was thinkin about getting a VW GTI VR6 with an EIP turbo kit check em out www.eiptuning.com, but I have heard a lot of bad stories about customer service problems with EIP. Supposedly they don't stand behind their products. I than started lookin at Acura Integras and various turbo systems for Integras. I would rather have a turbocharged 6 cylinder compared to a turbocharged 4 cylinder just because I want more torque to have fun with in town. Also I would have to run more boost into a 4 compared to a 6 to make equal amounts of power and the 4 would still not have the torque. I am trying to avoid NOS but I am not completly against it. So thats about it. I meen I guess I'll go over what I'm lookin for again so people don't have to look above. A FWD or AWD car, that is still reasonably reliable, and for about 15K. Also style does help I meen I could just drop and Integra engine into a civic or drop a VR6 engine into a VW Rabbit and have a dangerously fast car but I am also lookin for some style. I like the MAX but the best quarter mile time I have found so far is 13. That is alright but I am really lookin for 12. I know people are running turbos without intercoolers on their maximas. SO could I run a turbo with an intercooler on a Max with a built engine and hit 12 seconds??

Get the Civic, just plop in an H22A or something of the sort and boom you have a 12-second car. With the Maxima a 100-shot of nitrous and all the bolt-ons might get you 12s, but that's questionable. However add those to the newly-transplanted Civic engine and you've got a killer.

You could buy a previous generation Eclipse, install a boost controller, and maybe an upgraded turbo and some bolt-ons. Then, crank up the boost, and you'll have yourself a 12 second car. The engine might blow on you, but it sure as hell will be fast!
