The Jetta wasn't easy though. Without my mods, I think he would have crushed me. The Aurora was funny. It had this huge wing on it, and all kinds of Fast and Furious graphics going down the side......it was too much.

Sadly, I'm pretty sure a shipped 1.8T will smoke a max unless its SC or Turbo.

The other day I mutilated an older Elantra with a huge wing, black (as in... actually black, covered with some kind of plastic thing) taillights, stickers, and a coffee-can exhaust tip.

...

....

German engineering is pretty bad news. I got my *** handed to me by a VR6.

But I've got a custom turbo with NOS project in the works...hee hee. They'll never know what hit 'em.

Race the aurora on the hgihway. You may still win, but it will be much closer. They are geared like the LS400, Q45 etc. 0-60 is not their thing, but after 100 mph, lookout.

OH MY GOD NOT THIS AGAIN!!

A stock 1.8T will NOT kill a Maxima. It has LESS HP and LESS torque.

180 hp < 190 hp.

174 lb-ft < 205 lb-ft

Stop thinking the Jetta is some amazingly fast german sedan. It weighs the same as the Maxima, but the 4 cylinder engine, even with turbo, is no match for the Nissan VQ.

The VR6 is faster than the 1.8T (I am assuming everything is stock). VR6 will be a better match for the Maxima.

Thats all.

dude I dunno if you have an auto or not, and maybe you raced a 5 speed 1.8t.

I can tell you FOR SURE that if I raced a 1.8t stock, 5 speed or auto, with my 5 speed 98SE, I would definetely beat it.

I was in an automatic 99 Accord 4 cylinder, and my friend raced another one of my friends who had an auto 1.8t Jetta, and the Jetta barely pulled away from the 150 hp accord.

again, the VR6 is FASTER than a 1.8t goddammit!!!!

Yes, you can run funny gas all by itself. Some owners here use a 100hp shot in their stock 4th gen. But I guess it's just how much juice your engine and transmission can take...

...and not just any car wth NOS is faster than a s/c 4th gen.

if you put a turbo or s/c on a maxima, and turn up the boost, you will SMOKE any 1.8t, regardless whether its chipped or not.
