Make sure that moron gets fired. He obviously has problems...

Mkae sure its his (or the city's) insurance that's paying, not yours. Just take it to a good body shop and they will be able to piece it back together for you.

Also, no cussin' in my forum...

also, see if you can get a PBA card out of the deal. Especially one from the chief of police. When you have that, your never gonna get a ticket (trust me, my friend has one, he's gotten away with a lot. Too much in fact)

If he hit you at 40mph with a police car, you'd have a lot more than $2k worth of damage. Plus you'd be writing this from either the hospital or on lots of painkillers.

Describe the damage. Do all the doors open? What glass broke? Did the rear roof buckle at all? Gas tank rupture? etc....

Exactly - I have some health training, and 20-25mph is usually where you see a 1st-2nd degree concussion. If he hit you at 40mph, your head would have nailed the headrest, compressing your spinal column. Definitely a possibility of fractured vertebrae, probably vertebrae 3-5. So I'm guessing that you're either exaggerating or in the process of filing a $1M pain and suffering claim.

But since your talking about repairs, just take it to a good body shop and they check all types of frame damage and everything else. Make sure it's the city's insurance that pays, and also make sure that they have some sort of lifetime guarantee on the repair, just in case something goes wrong later on.

Good luck.

uuuh.... I was hit at 45mph over a year ago. A car slamed into the rear of my car ad pushed me into another car in front of me. Double whiplash. No fractures (thank god). But no visible damage. MRI shows nothing, but pain doesnt go away. Do you have any ideas on what else is wrong? My neck aint getting better and these stupid treatments arent helping. I'm still trying to get money out of it. I lost a brand new car, thats how I got my max.

I have constant neck pains and reoccuring back pains.

To the injured: get treatment now, and for the rest of your life. You're screwed. Enjoy.

TO everyone that thinks they can get a "cool mil". No.
I'm still trying to get ANY money out of my "settlement" that INCLUDES police negligence. Its been over a year and my stupid lawyers are still trying to get "$18,000". They will pay for the damage and for whatever else you can have your body shop add on (did someone say new VLSD transmission?). But they wont pay for "personal injury and suffering" for a LOOOOOONG time. Lawyers take their time, a year is nothing to them. Especially city lawyers. They can have the cop say he was chasing someone and you didnt pull over. They will go back and fourth for a year if not more.

God luck getting ANYTHING. Sorry about your accident but now you have to live with it. I hope the cop gets fired though.

I think calling him a moron and trying to have him fired is uncalled for. Accidents happen, even to cops. Were all human and it's just a fact of life. You are right about the insurance. The cop is 100% at fault and sunny's insurance company should be reimbursed by the cops/towns insurance company including the deductable.

yada yada...

I was in a BAD wreck years ago and had similiar neck, upper back problems. Mine were visible on an x-ray though. NOTHING helped the pain(physical therapy, countless drugs, hocus pocus) until I started biking and lifting weights. Seriously, building up the muscles in my neck really helped and I'm PAIN FREE(and prescription-drug free) as long as I stay in shape... Give it a try. The doctors might think your crazy, mine did, but screw em... it works. Also 800mg of Advil every 6 hours is better for me than many heavy prescription muscle relaxants/pain killers. Plus it doesn't make you tired or loopy....

Long road bike rides are the best as you have to hold your head up for a long time and there isn'
t much impact. Any sort of upper body weight lifting is great for me except push ups or bench pressing which for whatever reason is too painful... Your injuries will be different too.... But I'd stay away from sports with impact. Boxing is probably out... hehe

Good luck. Remember that most doctors know d!ck. Always get 2 or 3 opinions.
