Friend says his contour runs 14.26

Friend says his contour runs 14.26

Ok its a 94+ contour auto he says its the auto version of the svt and he took it to the track and got 14.26 what do you guys think ? So i guess we couldnt beat him im an auto 97 se hed win ?

They didn't make auto SVT Contours, and SVT Contours didn't start til 98. Your friend claiming that he ran a 14.26 is rediculous. I walked all over 4 modded 5 speed SVT Contours this weekend. Auto contour running 14.26 haha, maybe with a 100 shot. Please....


Come to think of it, an auto Contour wouldn't even be capable of 14.2 on a 100 shot I'd be willing to bet.

I don't know about the contour or probes, but I met a few Avenger/Stratus/Sebring guys a couple weeks ago and all of them were cool, I guess they have a turbo kit that is starting to come out for those cars as well. I think it is to each his/her own what car they mod as long as they are happy with it and don't overestimate or brag about something their car isn't.

contour is actually pretty decent...

have any of you guys actually driven a contour?

It has pretty good handling and excellent brake feel
right out of the box. It definitely has better dynamics
than a stock Max.

the contour actually shows it's european roots with its
compact dimensions, firm suspension, good 5 spd availability.

this is a reason why it was never a popular car in the US.

I must say the Contour is a decent car. I owned one for 3 years. It was a 95, V-6, 5-Sp. It was a nice car. It was quick. Its definatly no Maxima. The only problem I had was the orignal motor went out at 76,500 miles (ON THE BUTTON). I have a feeling it had to do with the water pump issues they had. I beat a SHO in my Tour and my friends 95 Max. Mind you theses wins were only a one time thing. I had the perfect launch and all that.
