CAI interesting find...
Ok so after drilling a hole in the quarter and running the tube and filter you know have this pretty chamber for the cai to sit in. Ive read people who are trying to figure out how to run ducting to their brakes but what about to the CAI?
I did some testing on a 01 eclipse spyder and the results were amazing. Install is about the same using AEM CIA.Only difference you dont need to drill because wheel well is accessable threw engine compartment. Any how the front of an eclipse has these fake vents in the front bumper in front of the wheel wells.
Installed CAI ran car zipped up and down town great sound much better punch and acceleration. Very noticable gains.
Then we decided to remove grills cut out bumper Dremel holes in fake grill inserts (inserts look like the face of a golf ball dimples) We drilled every dimple out. Slaped on the grill covers. And oh my god! huge difference At 3-5k rpm car just launches and pins you in the seat. and the noise sounds like a central vac.
So i guess the question is... is ramming air to the filter possible in our max's and would there be a benefit?
