How the hell can I get to the knock sensor w/out taking off the intake??

Is there a special kind of wrench for this? Where?

btw... I have a '96 I30.

 

I recently bought a '96 i30. The knock sensor can be removed without removing the intake, however it helps to have small to medium size hands.

By your question I assume you have placed your eyes on it - in the valley below the intake. I removed mine by using a 12mm boxend wrench. I actually used a crowbar to put pressure on the wrench to get the bolt started.
