Sprint Springs Cutting Coils

hey i was just wondering when u cut the spring does it weaken the spring? and where do u cut it top or bottom? i was thinking about riding with stock shockes/struts. hows the ride? just for a lil bet(with the sprints)then i'll get aftermaket shockes/struts (cause of money). what a good set up for sprints and shockes/strut?but i just wanted to know how many coils to cut if i want a 1 finger gap on 18 (235/40/18) and stock wheels too thanx

I SEARCHED TOO!!!

I cut 1 coil in the rears. I cut the top coil, b/c it was a dead coil. I had the springs on stock shocks for a few months. It lasted a little bit. I also know someone that put springs on and his rear shocks failed a week later. I would wait to get the shocks and just install them both at once. In my sig is the sprint w/ the cut coil in the rear with 18's(235/40/18) I also have 3 10's in the trunk too

Conclusion: Yes it is safe to do it for ONE coil off the REAR.
