I still agree with jdm_mboy - even if Nissan did make OEM chrome wheels there is no way they would be that cheap. And if you take the time to investigate it says that the centercaps are "aftermarket". That's very odd as the centercap is the main way to identify a wheel.

My bad

Those are some nice wheels though, I couldn't imagine how could that would look in an 18" or 19" rim

are those probably poor rims. I think the 5 spoke look, like my stock (in my sig) would look good chromed, and 1 inch bigger like the ebay thing says (17's)

actually, if i'm not mistaken, they made the 97-99 SEs as an option in chrome..i've seen them on a black max here in my town before, and a couple others on the web, but I heard they were OEMs

i seriously doubt that.. i would know i've purchased a few new maxima's.. and the dealer did sell them as a dealer option by about the middle of '98.. but these were chrome plated.. and you can buy those cheaper chrome plated ones from aaarims.com, but i wouldn't..

i think in 99 SE-Ls came with (or had the option of) a different coating one the wheels. but those definitely arent the ones on ebay.

as i was coming back to school today i was at a stop light next to a 2000 or 2001 GLE. it still had its 30 day tags on it and it had chrome nissan rims on it.

The only way you can be sure that they are knockoffs, is to flip the rim to the other side. There, you should be able to see NISSAN molded into the rim, on one of the spokes.

I work for a Nissan dealership. The chrome rims you see are either knockoffs or OEM chrome dipped. We usually send ours out to be chrome dipped though. I hope that answers your question.

They are chrome dipped factory rims. Most likely the person had them sent out. We don't stock any chrome rims for any nissans at my dealership.

99SELs had the 16" SE wheels with a goldish tint, to match the goldish tint of the SEL gages, which matched the goldish tint of the headlight lenses.

All part of the SEL theme. Just a color.

I've seen those chrome 5 spoke 16" rims on a 2001 GLE at the dealership. They look sorta like the regular GLE rims, but were thinner.

My Fault, those 16" rims on the GLE are an OPTIONAL chrome rim sold by Nissan. You can see them in a '00-01 brochure. There are none for the '95-99. For costs on chrome dipping, see your local dealer or go to a car audio/tuner store.

The only chrome rims which were OEM nissan rims were the 17inch chromes which came on the 2001 20th anniversary edition maxima. besides those any other chromed-out Max rims would be chrome dipped. (which i happen to have i my 1995 Impala) they are very durable and as resistant as factory chromes.

I paid $750 on a 1995 Impala but i had to give my factory rims in exchange. the place i did it at stocks factory chrome rims. they send you the chromeys and you send them the factories. I can't remember the name cuz it was like two years ago but i saw them on the ads section of Motor Trend not too long ago.
