car on the right
225/50/16
lowered 1.6" with lip
about 5.5" off the ground and I sometimes scrape stuff. Nothing bad really just rubbs against really steep curbs and driveways. Nothing bad but it takes getting used to driving up everyting at like a 45 deg. angle

They wouldnt do anyhting cause 45-17 rims is the same as 50-16 If I were to get 50-17 then its different story.

The 17" wheels/tirs can very well life your car up .5" or so. But it's not the wheels, it's the tires. There's more slack in the sidewall of a 15" tire than in a 17" tire. So the 17" tire sits straight and there's your extra .5"

seriously though, by logic it should not sit higher with rims that are up to 18" ofcourse if they are the right profile.
15" stock rims have a higher sidewall/profile.. When u get a bigger rim, the tire sidewall/profile gets smaller.. the bigger the rim the smaller the tire.. so they even out and overall it is still the same... or at least should be
example:
stock 15s have a 65 profile
stock 16s have a 55 profile
aftermarket 17s are paired with 45 profile
18s are 40 though.... i guess 18 might be a little bigger.. although i heard that everything up to 19" is okay....
