Dual exhaust - is it worth it

is it actually worth the extra $ and work of putting dual exhaust on a 95 max or just go with the single.. i mean i know it will look and sound good and all but is the hp gain worth it???

I think there is a guy named CraigMack on the Org who has the dual exhaust. Ask him, he would know best. I do remember him saying it sounded like a V8 once........

Your not gonna be looking at much of a gain at all...if anything you will lose hp due to too much loss of backpressure...its like putting a coffee can exhaust on your car but looks better and is more "accepted".

Keep in mind you will have to cut and weld your spare tire well to make room for the second muffler.

i believe there is no power gain from it at all

it's just for looks/sound purposes... I doubt it ads more flow to your exhaust, but might be good if you have like a supercharger or something..

i think it looks really nice, and if u have all other mods, it might be a good thing just for looks

if you are worried about losing performance and having to cut/weld your spare tire well to make room for the second muffler... do a "fake" dual like me... i am having my shop to a single all the way bakc but at the muffler iam getting a single inlet/dual outlet with two pipes coming off it and out the back... it is also known as a camaro style dual setup... looks great... alot easier to do...no worries of losing too much backpressure (although i always that it was exhaust velocity that was the big thing but i am no expert)

That would be me.

Overall I am very pleased with my setup. There are times where the V6 highness comes into play, but it doesn't sound bad like a honda at those speeds.. It sounds import-aggressive. 50mph and below it is deep or very deep and burbly. At 50+ It gets higher pitched and aggressive. Never buzzy or ricey like a 4banger.

There is no way for us to sound like a V8...or american V8's at least. Some import V8's yes, but the big 4.6 and 5.4L american V8's have like twice the displacement than us so they naturally sound noticably different. BUT, that doesn't mean that our V6's can't sound deep and mean. I've gotten alot of compliments on my setup. A guy at Nissan said he loved it. I met up with another Maxima guy and he said it sounded like the 300zx TT with modded duals.

My favorite thing is when there is crawling traffic and I have to gas it just a little..it sounds muscular as hell..and the best part is it's coming from a sedan.

Here's a pic of my setup:

I have a camaro V-force muffler with dual outlets..i went for the straight piped look.

the setup should run you about $400 at a local custom muffler shop.

I'm tired as sin righte now and a little boozed up..so. why dont you try using the search..not being sarcastic. This has been asked dozens of times and you will find all that you need. if ya still need info drop me an email.
