Getting a CAI and Exaust....

Im getting a CAI from a friend of mine on Sat for 60$ Does this price sound right? He only had it on his 96 max for 3 months. Then Im purchasing a Muffler from a local automotive store called 'Beacons' it will run me about $130. What im looking to do is just replace my stock muffler and get this one. The muffler, (i dont know the namebrand) is all crome, Round, and has i think a 4 inch outlet. My ssiter has one on her 2001 Honda civic and it gives it that real low tone to it. Thats what I want, I dont want anything like super loud, or even just plain loud. Her exaust is real low. Im kinda new to this stuff so bare with me. Will it not be as loud just to have the Muffler piece and the CAI, without all the undercar tubing and what not? Id appreciate the advice, thanx!

If noise is a concern, keep the stock muffler. Get the CAI. You will eventually want a Y pipe. A Y pipe with any mffler other than stock will be quite noisy.
