body kits

I'm looking for a body kit for my '96 Maxima. I want a totally different look. I like this type of body kit. Can anyone help me out on where to get one? Thanks, Steve

That is a Black Widow kit form an Accord custom molded to a Maxima. It is a custom job done by a company in southern California. You can get a custom kit molded anywhere, but it is very expensive and most likely frail.

Are there any other kits that look similar? I am just looking for something to give the Maxima a different look.

Not yet. There are some "radical" kits in the making, but nothing has been publicly produced yet. All we have is the Sarona, Stillen, Erebuni, and IonicMax kits.

When you say soon, is that months or years? And roughly how many? Also where can I purchase paint for the kit? Thanks, Steve

you can by ionicmax painted and drilled for about $600 without the front (they don't make it and recommend Stillen) - jose says self-install is definitely doable

Well you can order the Ionic body kit today (it is in production), and you can place orders for the Type-S and Octane kits from now. To be honest nobody really knows how long they will take - I would think they will come out this summer (June/July) for the import season but you never know.

BTW painting should definitely be professionally done and it will require a flex agent. Painting a whole lip kit should run around $400.

Typically, are the parts painted first then bolted on, or painted when flush to the body?

if they are painted after they are installed, there is more of a chance for mistakes to occur
