After 78,000 miles I haven't had any problems other that a fuse poping but that was due to a stupid mechanic that wired my sun roof wrong, fixed now.
Thanks,

97 SE 5-speed with 70K on it.

Recently replaced knock sensor, clutch, right rear brake caliper, and 2 rear wheel bearings. Considering what I do to this car, I couldn't be happier with it's reliabilty.

I had a 98 Civic that was just a commuter car to save money with. I put more money in repairs to that thing in 4 months than I ever have with the Max. Needless to say I sold that POS!

Power steering leak- loose hose around 60K

Bose CD player skipped when I first got the car at 42K

Oil Pressure Sender unit leaked- $6 fix, no biggie.

I've had numerous problems with my Y pipe but that doesnt count.

My biggest/most expensive problem has been the transmission. I've had busted differential carrier bearings. Blown 2nd gear, getting stuck in reverse, and leakage at the park positional sensor.

83k miles on a 98 GXE auto

Zero problems so far except for a starter that liked to screech in very cold weather... but I took it apart and greased the planetary gears, and all is good now. It looked good inside, just short on grease. I got to it before any damage was done.

The 'check engine' light did come on 3k miles ago, which indicated a bad oxygen sensor, but I simply reset it... and it has stayed off. Maybe it was a fluke. The car runs perfect.

I did hear a little valve clatter a couple months ago (the wife put cheap gas in it) which could be a bad knock sensor... but the 'check engine' light hasn't come on, and it runs great. (as long as it gets a steady diet of decent fuel)

The car isn't abused, and gets regular maintenance... so I expect it to easily go 200k miles. Of course some parts are eventually going to wear out, but that is to be expected on any vehicle.

These cars are well built. They should last a long time as long as they aren't abused.

Good Luck!

1. 94,000 miles NOW - starter at about 60,000
2. window regulator at about 80,000
3. few squeaks (maybe from bad stereo install)

Very reliable other than the above (had since new)

- still have original clutch/brake pads

'98 SE Auto., 75,000 Miles

- Needs a tune-up
- Needs brakes
- Needs belts (still on original belts)
- Needs tires
- Annoying knocking during idle

Other than that, just needs some TLC maintenance-wise, it'll take me well over 100,000 miles

98 SE with 36,000 miles. So far I've had these problems:
1. Faulty fuel guage
2. MAF sensor
3. TWO front O2 sensors
4. 1 set of brake pads
5. The next thing is probably going to be the knock sensor!

Other than that, no problems!

98 SE auto. w/ 101,000

knock sensor @ 70,000 miles
numerous paint chip repairs @ every mileage.
regular maintainance as scheduled (spark plugs, brake pads, etc.)

been lucky so far! BUT i think the transmission is acting up. every time i let off the gas and get back on it pretty quick, i get a little jolt. also, 1st to 2nd shift is pretty rough. i'm not sure if it was always like this.

So far I have the following problems developing...

- Needs tune-up
- Needs brakes
- Needs tires
- Needs belts
- Annoying knocking during idle
- Midlevel CD/Cassette is starting to skip when I play CD's
- Low idle in "D"
