Got smoke by a Jag??WTF??
I was at a light tonight, I rolled up on this brand new Jag (XJK or something it was a seadan) It had dual chrome tip exhaust and alloy rims etc. The road after the light merged and so I figure what the h*ll, I took off as the light turn green. I didn't intend to race but out of nowhere the Jag zips right by me. 
As we came to the next light (two lane road instead of three) Again @ a red light, this time we reved a little. I dump my clutch bout 1800 rmp, I jump out half a car length, then it was over. I think he was an auto but he just pass me almost effortlessly. WTF?? I know they have a V8 in it but I was suprised that I lost but a lot. 
I know it wasn't anything to do with my shifting because I had a decent launch and I got it front but it seems like he took me in 2 gears, I'm impressed.

Yea its was a XJR cuz I know what the S-type and the X-tyoe looks like. Owell, it was worth the experiment. I kinda thought they were supercharger or something cuz I remember reading it in road & track. Those thing are quick, u win some u lose some!

Papasmurf- I don't think even a lot of mods will do us much good. Maybe a turbo may hang or even have a better chance. We are simply out matched but for that price those won't be my choice of cars.

Not quite the same. The XJ8 is just a Jaguar with a V8 in it. The XJR looks like a mean a$$ XJ8. Massive 18s, body color grille, twin chromed tailpipes. Gorgeous car.

The tailpipes can be similar on the XJ8...and thats all we'll see on both models...lol

True. twin pipes are on all the XJs. The XJR is just badass though. I jsut looked at the Jaguar website and they sell a XJSport, too. Basically the look of the XJR, 18s, grille etc, but not the SCed V8. Nice. 290 hp ain't bad.

On a side note: I've seen an XKR get its A$$ handed to it by an S55 AMG. It was a sweet thing to see. The S55 beat it straight out of the light and pull away.
But, nonetheless, those things are fast and the new S-Type is even scarier. I wish the max's were TT (twin turbo) much like the old Z's.
