Stock fog lights aimed wrong - or too bright???
I just bought my 1998 Maxima SE two days ago, and I love it - except for one thing. When I'm driving at night with the fog lights on (since I have them, I figured why not drive with 'em on... they look cool) people think I have my brights on, because I have had three people turn their brights on as they are coming towards me. I then flash my brights at them and they turn their brights off, but they must have thought I had mine on.
Could my lights be aimed wrong? Or are they just too bright? Should I not be using the fog lights at night? Are they not meant to be used for everyday driving? I see other people with their fog lights on all the time. Help! I'm sick of people shining their brights in my eyes!

My aftermarket fogs came with some metal plate "blocking" the output of the light. I noticed this because they were not as bright as I thought they should be. I then took the lights apart, and removed the plate. People flash at me all the time because they are so bright. Actually, I don't care because it brightens up my path when I'm driving at night!

Swcello - aim your foglamps >>
THe best way to do this is not to remove them from the car. It may be more work, but it will allow you aim once and not have to remove and re-install the lamps every time you want to make a change. You can access the aim adjustment screw for the foglamps by removing the undertray attached to the bottom of the bumper cover. There will be a screw in the back of the foglamp housing (grey colored). Using an 8mm socket or #2 philips screw drivers, turn the screw until the horizontal cutoff is at the desired height. See here for directions on how to achieve the proper beam pattern location.
