One of those A/C Services.....
Are they worth getting the service? I don't exactly know what they do for A/C service. Lately, I've been smelling some funny smell coming from the A/C vents. I'm guessing its time for me to get a A/C service and maybe change the freons too. Any thoughts?

I'm actually considering an A/C service/cleanup, lately the air blowing in my '98 SE at times is musty and I don't smoke in my car nor do I let anyone smoke in my car so I'm very well inclined to do this before I drive to Chicago from Detroit in mid July.
Off subject but any service that BG does (ask your Nissan dealer about this) IMO is far worth it, I did a BG engine flush earlier this month and it was well worth it, so thier A/C service has to be tops and that's what I'll set up next time my SE is in service

The smell comes from fungus build-up on the evaporator. There's a good explanation in Haynes 3-14, but basically you can buy a disinfectant spray which can kill the fungus while the air is set to recirc mode. The dealer has a much more expensive way, opening up the evaporator core and cleaning it until all traces of fungus are gone.
