I've seen some hondas with some pretty large plenums. Look at the Edelbrock racing plenums. Even the stockers in some civics and integras are pretty large too. Maybe not all hondas have those, I'm not too big on their parts and stuff, but I have seen some that are pretty beefy.

The Celica GT-S has 12" runners and the B18C5 has 10" runners. Visually, the runners don't look as long on the 4-bangers because the runners are usually curved and not straight like the VQs.

Again, do you know where the hole WOULD be if you did cut it? I doubt it, cause if you did, you wouldn't worry about. It is covered up by battery tray, fuse box, and stock airbox (should you go back to that). It is only noticeable if you are looking for it.

Anyone ever notice???

On my 98 Maxima, when I was installing the PR CAI, there was already a 3-3.5" circular pattern etched in the metal, apparently from the factory. It was as if Nissan was going to use it for the intake, but decided not to.

No matter what kind of intake I get I will be cutting into the fender. This is just a great place to feed air from outside the engine. Isn't modding just that, changing the conservative aspects that the manufacturer imposed on the car. I don't mind cuttin up betsy, because when you put it back together you can't tell.

Ok. So they say that the longer pipe for the PR CAI sacrifices top end. But doesn't the y-pipe make up for the loss in the top end? Does anyone know the answer to this question?
