or at least I can't make it. I need to re-route my cd changer control (previous owner stuck it on the dash and it is ugly as sin). I got around the sifter up, the ash tray out, but then the vents/clock would not come out. How much force do it need? Tried prying, pulling, and cursing it -- none worked. I know how to get it out (via Haynes manual and Crutchfeild), but am afraid if I force it too much that I will break it. Please help...

errrgg@*&%$?!

The vents, hazards, clock and defroster is all one panel. The climate control (A/C) panel is not part of that so don,t pull/pry on that part. I pulled the vents off by prying outwards at the point of the defrost switch or the hazard switch. I have a 95 gle so it should be the same. After that you should see that the stereo and A/C panel are screwed in.

To remove the upper part which houses the clock, warning signals, and vents you have to pull up on the below part which houses the coin, radio and a/c controls. The first time I tried to remove the dash I got fed up and tugged on the middle part and the top part just poped up. For more info click on my website to the left and look under shoptalk for pics. Good luck.

To get the clock part of mine off I normally use the top of the little inlet for the clock to lift it up, then when it gets above the clips holding it in, I pull straight out. . . Works well for me.
