Upper radiator hose temp kit?

I have autometer water temp gauge, and want to install it. I read someone's thread, that they cut the upper radiator hose, and used a kit that had a whole for a water temp sensor. It's a piece of plastic tubbing that goes on the upper radiator hose. Does any one know what this is called? Or where I can buy it? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

There isn't one made just for autometer. You will need to buy one made by HKS or Omeri. Then modify it to work with autometer sender.

Here's some pictures.

Here's some pics of the OMORI one:

I would point the probe a little more "down" than what my pictures show. I think I used P173 (36mm diameter).

Autometer Oil Pressure gauges (electric) use 1/8" or 1/4" NPT which are included... You will need a "T" from the stock oil sender or you can replace the oil sender althogether (you'll need to remove dash light). I think you will need a BSPT adaptor from Autometer as well...

1MAX2NV knows the part#, IIRC.

My car is a 1999 so it might be different. It's the 1/8" NPT to 1/8" BSPT adaptor that will go into the block. The rest of the fittings depends how you want to do your setup. Look at the link above. You can see my oil pressure gauge setup. You basically need two 1/8" to 6AN adaptors. One 6AN ss braided hose. A tee that's 1/8" NPT all around.

Where can I find all of these fittings? At a local hardware store?

Thanks!

Tony, those are 4AN lines, right? It's not a good idea to use the larger 6AN just in case you have a leak anyways.

I just ordered my Permacool dual circuit oil cooler along with 8AN lines... I hope the 0.44" tubing will be sufficient for our cars.

Oh yeah...those are either 4AN or 3AN lines. I don't remember now. I was thinking about my fuel lines.

Are these the fittings I will need to install the oil gauge, I couldn't fint the "T" fitting though in summit racing's online catalog.

1/8 in. NPT to 1/8 in. BSPT, brass, mechanical oil pressure gauge, adapter fitting

6 AN with 1/8 in. NPT port, anodized blue, aluminum pressure gauge adapter

-6 AN, 3 ft. stainless steel braided hose

1MAX2NV, how did you get the water temp sensor in the HKS water temp kit? I have it, and it does not fit?

Thanks

You need a 1/8 NPT to 1/4 NPT bushing. Drill and tap that hole to fit that bushing then screw the 1/8" NPT probe into the bushing. Any machine shop can do that for you.
