Has anyone been sucessful in modifying their factory alarm to make the horn toot when setting it?

I hate having to wait to see the signals flash to know the doors have locked and the alarm has set.......

This topic has been tossed around for a long time. The closest thing anyone has done is for $10 you can make it chirp. If you had searched then you might had found the answer!

I just did the upgrade. My local RS didnt have the buzzer so I used a 102db siren.

Works pretty cool. Doesnt beep, kinda goes woo woo......woo woo
High pitch .......

Not too bad. easy enough to change if I want to

I don't exactly understand the diagram of how to wire it to the new relay, can someone explain? There are like 5 prongs, which do i wire it to?

 

I did this mod 2 weeks ago and was a complete success.I bought a two tone beeper and it works cool.It cost me $24 but it's worth it.I hear a high pitch tone and a low pitch tone when i lock my max.

Same stuff have been talking about for Samsung SM5 too..
It is really good idea. Sometimes I press the lock button on
the remote little longer so panic mode starts.. YUK..

After the modification 2002 SM520 will beep twice when doors
are locked and beep once when it unlocks.

But 2001 and older model of SM520 will beep twice when doors
are locked and no beep when it unlocks. Just like Maxima....

Yuk.. Mine is 2001 SM520 so I will have beep only when doors
are lock.

 

I didnt use the relay that the article suggested. I used a standard Bosch 12v relay.

If the relay has markings or #'s on each terminal (most should) heres how I wired mine.......

Term # 86---------green/orange stripe (12v+)
#85-------------orange (BCM)
#30-------------green/orange stripe (same as #86)
#87-----------goes to + of buzzer

Ok the diagram on th back of the package shows 2 termials connected by a coil. Then one the is NC and 1 that is NO, those teo show connections to a third one. If I do this wrong will it go bad?
