41250 mi. maintenance coming up!

This will be the first maintenance I do on my own (bought the car at 39K miles), so I'm planning on changing the oil filter as well as the oil. I was just going to run over to ~autozone and get a mobil 1 filter. Since I've never changed my oil before I was wondering if there is some documentation available for me. Thanks a lot guys

okay so I think I can figure out how to find the drain plug to rephrase my question...is there anything in particular I should be watching out for?

Don't burn yourself if you run the car before doing it. Besides that, you should be ok. Why not change the fuel filter as well. Its not that difficult, a haynes manual should be sufficient. Try a throttle body cleaning too. Search.!

An oil change is pretty straightforward. Pull the drain plug and drain the oil. Replace the drain plug and remove the old filter. Make sure the rubber gasket comes out with the filter, because occasionally they stick and people will put the new filter over the extra gasket (which can cause a leak). Make sure you put some oil on the new filter and gasket before putting it on the car. Then put in your oil (4 and 1/4 quarts with a filter change) and you're good to go.

Don't buy a mobil 1 filter. Go to nissan and get the OEM filter. Its about the same price, but you get a higher quality product. Go to Costco and buy a case of Mobil 1 TRI-SYN oil, if they have any left.
