Did I FINALLY fix my car???

OK, I don't want to jinx anything, but I think my jerky/jumpy hesitation problem may have FINALLY been solved!!!

So, what I did BEFORE:
changed my knock sensor
changed my engine coolant temperature sensor
changed my pcv valve
changed my fuel filter
cleaned my throttle body
cleaned my IACV

NONE of these helped (mind you, its good for maintenance!)
So, finally what I did was tighten two of my ground wires -- along the fuel rail...and THINGS SEEM MUCH MUCH BETTER

so, the moral of the story, check your GROUND WIRES!!!!

Thanks to everyone for their $0.02...this has gone on so long,
I've got about $10,000 is advice!!!

When does this "jerky/jumpy hesitation" happen? Is it when you're crawling in congested freeways in first gear or second gear and maintaining a constant speed which the tachometer indicates 2000 or so rpms? Mine exhibits this symptom around 2000 rpms on 1st or second gear. Also if I let go of my gas pedal around 2200 rpm I can see/feel/hear the rpms winding down in a lurchy fashion.

I went ahead and tightened those two ground screws you mentioned. Hopefully it helps the symptoms (are we talking about the same thing?).

Flo-boy,
This is the news I've been waiting for! You've made reference to ground wires in your past posts...Can you elaborate on the ground wire tightening? Forgive my ignorance, but I don't know where the fuel rail is located. Thanks.

BTW...What do these ground wires belong to?

I checked those first in my car, when I popped the 03 04 KS code. It did nothing and they were tight/clean.

OK -- first, I removed the tape that covers all of the wires in the engine bay.
This really didn't provide much info, and everything looked great, so, I would
skip this step at first.

Second, I removed the ground wires located by the fuel rail...cleaned them thoroughly...
re-wrapped them in tape...and tightened them back to their original place.

Today, I experienced some more "jerky-ness", checked the bolt, and sure enough,
it wasn't that tight (I need new bolts, these aren't exactly right)...

OK, so, here's a pic of my engine bay (since cleaned!)
Engine Bay

In this pic, move about an inch to the right of the dipstick (yellow) and there
are two bright screws -- those are the ground wires...please make sure that
these are TIGHT!

These grounds are for (I think) the Knock sensor and that green sensor near the knock (for sure).

Hope this helps!!! Let me know if you have other questions.

best,

I think im getting the same thing as you...but i think its because we have stick, the auto's don't do this.
Its kind of not really smooth at low speeds is it?
