Ok so i am on the brooklyn bridge going into BK. when a purple civic tried to race me the length of the bridge. He had me around the turn just cause he was on the inside. So i went to second, and he kept up, than the infamous 3rd and it was a wrap. all i saw was his girl laffin and a head lights. Than as usual 10 minutes later when i am driving like a granny. He blows by me honking and waving. So i blew by him and waved through the sunroof and bounced...hahaha

Maybe he was thinking "we all know the maxima is faster, but I bet I can get him to race twice anyway"

have you ever noticed that the smaller the dog, the more it barks and more aggressive it tries to be. for e.g. chihuahas are so bloody obnoxious. they will bark, jump, try to scratch and bite. on the other hand, a german shepherd will quitely come, sniff you and walk away and rest in a corner.

So whats the difference if a civic tries racing you then us trying to race a corvette, cobra, trans am, WRX etc? I raced a 9 second Civic at Maxus 2001 and it was not pretty (and no I was not on my 2 wheeled honda either).

Because the Civic has MUCH more parts available then we do. If you spent as much $ on a civic as you did for a maxima, the civic would be pretty dern fast. There are many more civics out there with engine swaps and/or turbochargers. There are also FAR more civics in the 10s, 9s and even 8s then there are maxima's. Oh yeah there arent any....

 

Too bad that guy didn't have a 10 sec civic to race the maxima with.

 

Uhm yea, I'd say most Civic are slow but there's probably more Civic running 13's and faster than there is Max's running 13's. So odds are you'll probably meet one of those fast ones one day, well at least if you live in a city with a big Import Scene. I know I won't talk smack to a clean civic with an intercooler cuz you never know.

I contend that there are far more civics running 16s+ than civics in the mid 14s and below. So odds are I'm okay.

Actually, ebmorgan owns a german Shepard that barks at everything and anything. german Shepards are a bad example, because they're guard dogs by nature, and love to bark.

a irish Wolfhound or Matiff is a better example, they never bark.

My parents own a 1/2 Timber Wolf 1/2 German Shepard, and it's quiet as a mouse, and scared of my parent's Westie.

Absolutely, you're right but personally, I just can't degrade myself that low to race a Civic (tin can muffler or engine swap).... has to be at least a Bimmer. Yeah, some Civis might be faster, but at least I can still roll up to the valet at the nicest restaurant in town and still has class to belong there.... If you roll up in your ricey Civic, people are just going to say "WTF?". Civic's only belong to local McDonald's parking lot.

 

Since you guys are sharing, I was driving down the S.I. express way and this idiot driving a 98 civic sedan driving in the middle lane
tailgating a 97 accord. The accord got off at the next exit and the idiot had the whole middle lane to himself for about a mile. This idiot cuts infront of in the far left lane and puts on his emergency
lights. My girl looks over to me and O no. I then cut over to the middle lane and floor it. All he saw was BIG Chrome and HID's go by
and I cut him back off and put on my emergency lights, Idiot. I guess
he was coming back from hot import Nights and "someone through a battery in his back".3rd gear is serious in the Max.

I really don't have a problem with bone stock civics, they are good daily commute cars, reliable. As a matter of fact, one of my best friends, she has a bone stock 4 door civic, I do not have a problem even riding in her car. I have a HUGE problem when people start putting mods on their civics, start to think they can beat a Porsche and drive like Mario Andretti. This is my girlfriend's opinion on ricey civics.... Classic!!!

Guys, you are killing me here...I love my maxima just as much as all of you, but the way you are carrying on you act like we drive ferrari's. Yes, our cars are 95% faster than the other civics on the road, but what's that to be proud of?? The honda civic is one of the most basic, and slowest cars on the road....grow up. Peace

2) civic parts are cheap
3) everyone and their mothers and daughters drive civics
4) if there were as many modded max's on the road as there are civics....well, you all know what would happen....and thank god there arent...

Actually I have to say that I have ran against several Maximas and yes they were trying, and I have beat all the one's i've gone against most recently I beat my brother while he was driving my pops 97 se.. I'm not saying that my 99 Civic Si is the fastest car out there or that it can beat any maxima, this is simply directed at all who said civics are slow pos's...

Guys I admit that there are alot of ricers out there driving civics but not all civic drivers are riceboys, actually where I live I see more maxima's that are riced out than civics, case in point my neighbor down the street has a 89-94 maxima that is purple with chrome wheels and a spoiler that's big enough to fit a plane.. Bottom line is not to stereotype.. Ricers come in all makes and models..
