oil grade

i have been using 10w 30 grade in my 95 max...just wondering if this is best for southern climates, or should i use 5w 30 instead.

5W-30 will give you slightly better start-up protection but either one is fine. Since your down south, the extra start-up protection isn't as big a factor as the better shear protection at warmer temps. 10W-30 is probably the best overall choice for you.

I've been running Amsoil 10-40 year round in San Antonio,Texas with good results. I know quite a few people who will run 20-50 here and, unless we actually have a "winter", they use it year round with no problems. I think Castrol makes a synthetic 5-50 that should cover your butt no matter the temp. I'm definitely biased on using an upper viscosity of 40 or more when the average highs are 90+ for 3 or more months.
