Last night I was having a look at the car, and checked the condition of my belts.

Both were fine, but I know that the PS belt is approaching 60k on it, so I was going to change it last night. Well, come to find out that the head of the tension bolt for the PS pump is broken off.

Anyone know if you can replace it/get to it? I guess its not a big deal for now, because the belt is in fine shape, but the day will come when I _need_ to replace it.

Suggestions?

When you finally do go to change the belts, grab the bolt with some vice grips and try to get it COMPLETELY out of there....it will take a while. The make sure you have a replacement on hand.....

Do you think you could get your hand and a pair of vice grips up there? I have a hard enough time getting to that bolt with a socket wrence and extentions...

I second your comment. I changed my drive belt but when I attempted to do the power steering belt, it seemed impossible. I waited till I had my car on lifts, thinking that I would get a better angle/view but still seems impossible. Exactly what tools did you use to loosen the pivot bolt? Btw, I have a stock exhaust system. I heard the "y-pipe" provides more room...

Thanks,
