HELP!! Do I need new shocks/struts? Alignment/drop is off

I NEED EVERYONES OPINION ON THIS!!!
I have been on H&Rs with stock shocks/struts since January, my car has 59k miles on it.
I noticed two weeks ago that my alignment is off (steering wheel shakes a little above 60mph) and that the front right side of my car is a little lower than the front left (wheel gap is a little less).
I think my front right strut is blown.
Before I go ordering KYB AGXs (which I know I should do anyway) I want opinions as to whether or not the strut is blown. I havent noticed a difference in the ride, but the look and vibration leads me to beleive that the strut is done. Nothing else would cause the alignment/height problem. I also had an alignment about 2 months ago, so it should still be fine but isn't.

PLEASE give me your opinions. I'll order the AGXs tonight if possible and install them on Saturday if thats what needs to be done, even though money is tight.
Thanks...
Tony

take the front wheel off and look at the shock/strut if its blown you will see oil all over it or push down on the car on the side that you think is blown if its really soft & bouncy its blown
so get shocks also non adjustable shocks might be cheaper

maybe just the alignment. blown strut or shox shouldn't affect the height of the car. did you hit something?

Nope, haven't hit a thing. The car as a whole doesn't seem nearly as stiff or firm as it did when I first put the springs on. The shocks have definitely softened and definitely need to be replaced, but I WAS trying to save up for 18s and tires, guess this is a minor set back.
Where should I get the AGXs? I know someone was selling them for $245 shipped in NY, I gotta locate him and order them.

If your running H&R's you can save a few bucks and go with the Tokico Blue struts or the KYB GR2. H&R's are closer to the stock spring rate then other lowering springs are. They actually ride nice with the Tokico Blues. I'm sure the KYB GR2 will also provide you with a nice firm smooth ride.

The AGX is a pretty firm strut and the fact that they are adjutable is sweet. Go with them if you can, but keep in mind if your on a budget there are other choices.

Even though I am on a budget I still want the best. I meant to say $345 shipped, I knew that. Hopefully he isn't out of stock.
I am also going to cut a coil off of my H&Rs to give me a slightly lower drop. I want a firm ride and the H&Rs dont provide it. I should have gone with Eibachs. I'll be able to set the AGXs as firm as I want though which is good.

Sounds like you need AGX's for sure.

Cutting coils? You'd be much better trying to trade someone for another spring. Even though you cut a coil, you still have a soft spring, actually even softer now because your losing a coil. Your going to wind up with a bouncy ride no matter how hard you set the AGX's to.

If it's firmness your looking for, get a firm spring and couple it with a firm strut.

Coupling a weaker spring with a firm strut isn't going to give you a descent ride. The spring will not be able to handle the weight of the car anymore. Impacts will become harsh and the strut will work overtime to try to control it. You may even wind up with premature strut failure.

I'm only planning on lowering the car another .5" which should not hurt the AGXs at all. As far as the spring firmness, I know that cutting them doesn't make them firmer. I just want a lower drop, and I know the AGXs will allow for stiffer handling. I'd love to trade for some eibachs, but what are the chances of finding someone who wants that? NY96MAX cut a coil off his H&Rs when he put on his shocks and I beleive his are fine, as is his ride. I'll have to ask him.
Any idea about buying the AGXs though? Id like to order them today...
