newbie tire question

I need some new tires for my max-bad. I had a tire come apart on me on the way home a couple of days ago and am decidding what kinda tires to get. I have 215/55-16's on it now-i want to get some itto t450's, but people are telling me that the kumho is the better tire? any sugestions? One more question- i have found a set of nittos in a 225/50 used that i may be able to buy reasonably-would that size be okay to use on my max, or would i need to stay away feom it?

i have the kumho 712's in a 225/55/16. i like these tires a lot. handle very well for my style of driving, good in the rain, and inexpensive. next time i am up for tires i might get the same tire in a 225/50 since i should be dropped by then.

I put those on my Celica before i gave it to my brother... they are EXCELLENT tires. As long as u take care of em (rotate every oil change), they are quite quiet and grip very well

right kumho escta supra 712. i live in MD, so if and when it does snow, i can put my all-season tires i have mounted on my old wheels on the car. i have heard bad things about the traction in the snow with the 712's. by looking at the tread pattern i can see why.
