Frankencar Midpipe Rocks!

I got the intake today via USPS two-day. It took me about 45 mintues to install only because I was cleaning the throttle body while I was installing the midpipe. The installation was straightforward and simple; it came with a 15-step guide. The midpipe was of excellent quality. The hardest part of the installation was trying to fit the rubber hoses where they belong. One mention, The kit comes with a rubber cupler. The MAF already has a short molded rubber cupler on it after you remove the stock resonator. Just pull it off and add the rubber cupler that comes with the kit for a nice snug fit. I was amazaed how much dirt was in the throttle body (just like in the how- to picture). I let the car run for a few minutes and hit the road.

While I was working on my car, this fine brunette walk up to me and asked what I was doing. I told her and she was said that's awesome and impressed and said how awesome it was. I talked to her some more and found out she was moving to uptwon Dallas. I tried to ask her out but she said her boyfreind wouldn't be happy.

Anyway, I pulled off the lot and WHOA! The car leaped into action when I stepped on the gas. The thottle was so responsive. The sound was awesome! It sounded like a finely tuned race car. I originally had just the K&N filter with the stock resonator; while the sound was nice, it was pretty deep like a Mustang Cobra -- not that deep, but you get the point. This new sound was ferocious! I couldn't wait to get on the highway. I floored that sucker and away I went! The pickup was amazing! If you want a hybrid intake, YOU HAVE TO GET THIS MIDPIPE! Deezo was right! This intake is incredible. The tires felt like they breaking loose. It's like I got a 10HP uograde.
I got a lot of my MCAT studying done, my new Timbs off of ebay came in, and I installed my hybrid intake (my first time doing something as mechanical as this). Today was a good day.

sounds good man...i really want to do this and came close but then i read about someone not getting good gas mileage...so i hesitated and haven't done anything about it since. if anyone who has had this for a while tells me their gas mileage hasn't been affected or even improved i'm sold, but until then...i'm here with my loss of low end regular hai.

Sounds good. Also with regards to gas mileage, you won't loose any, it might actually improve. It just seems that way because people want to press the gas all the time to hear noise.

will the JWT fit if connected to the midpipe? I heard the battery might block the way. I don't want to spend money to buy another filter.

It should fit. My K&N cone filter is touching the metal handle that goes across the battery, but doesn't press against it. I think the K&N cone filter is the same size as the JWT. Yeah, it should fit. I just saw some pics of it at custommaxima.com.

I don't have a digital camera, but my setup looks exactly like this. This picture is frankencar.com.

No problem. The procedure is located on the center page next to November 26, 2001 date and is under throttle body cleaning.

The frankencar midpipe is $55 shipped. The JWT pop charger just comes with the intake and adapter to fit it unto the MAF unit.

I got my frankencar mid pipe yesterday too. I also cleaned my throttle body as well. The difference in both sound and performance is VERY NICE! $55 very well spent. I love my max.
