I have a '97 SE and was curious if I added a Stillen Muffler if I would notice any power gain? What about sound? I don't have an intake.

sure you would get some (small amount)hp gains and your level of sound will go up (and up)but the think the stillen's cat-back is pure crap. get the greddy, looks good sounds great

Stillen Muffler

You'll get 5 extra ponys but, you won't feel it. You will however hear the difference. A bit loud to some. I personally, I'm getting used to it.

Other mods are more worth the money than a muffler.

Just my 0.2¢

I pesonally think the stillen is of better quality then the greddy and looks better, but thats just my opinion. You won't really get noticable gains from the exhaust alone, but when paired with an intake, y-pipe, and hi flow cat you will definitaly feel gains (around 22hp. All of those mods work together and are felt less when they are by themselves

whats quiter?

GReddy catback or Stillen?

I'm thinking about a stillen intake, cattman y pipe, RT Cat, and a GReddy catback, will this sound like a riced out civic or what? Main concern is in the low RPM's (Cruising). It can be as loud as it wants in WOT for all I care, the louder the better. But dont wanna stand out to much just driving down the street at like 2000-2500 rpm's Thanks

i know you will enjoy the greddy catback even though i dont have one on my maxima. I had the system on my accord and it sounded very nice. Very deep compared to those bumblebee exhaust you hear on civics. Dont worry about sounding like a civic with the greddy. Thats for sure not going to happen

i'd go with the c.a.i. (and don't say anything about water bla bla bla in the engine)y-pipe, rt and greddy. it sounds nice and low. you might get a little drone but you will get used to it. i didn't notice it. plus others with that set-up say it isn't loud.

If your worried about drone or excess noise, getting a high flow cat will reduce drone somewhat.

I love it!

I have a Cattman Y, RT Cat and the Stillen Muffeler.

I can't say that I noticed much in power gains, but I love the way it looks and the sound.

As for the sound. Here is my theory: A few weeks ago I got to ride in someone else AUTO max ( first AUTO max I have been in ). I was shocked at just how low the RPM's would be while cruising around 40 or 50. It was less than 2k RPM's.

Now, I, with a 5sp, tend to keep my RPM's higher than that. Usually above 2500, and closer to 3000+ ( I do a LOT of highway driving ). So the "drone" does not bother me much at all.

You will hear different things from different people. Don't get it if you are just looking for power...you won't feel it.
