ive seen several people talking about the frankencar intake lately...how is it compared to the cold air intake, or a hybrid intake? is it quieter? more or less HP gain? i kno its cheaper, but is paying more for a CAI worth it?

 

I've wondered this myself. Seems like the frankenfans are coming from stock setups. I think the franken is considered a hybrid though. I'm assuming it would have a nice mix of properties from a popcharger and also from a CAI. Still, I'm not sure one would find a significant difference if one were coming from a CAI though... Although their has been a lot of praise lately, the CAI has gotten similarly glowing comments from people coming from stock intakes in the past too. Personally, had I not had a CAI already, I'd be jumping in on some frankenlovin' too most likely.

 

The CAI is louder. I used to have a hybrid intake setup(similar to the Frankencar intake), but I have the CAI now. As far as power, in my experience(automatic), the CAI is best suited for street/track use, and the hybrid does better on the highway.
