A friend of mine is wondering if it would be difficult or expensive to add cornering lights to his 99 GXE?

This mod makes em on all the time

if thats what you're looking for. The site should say "this mod will make your corners brighter all the time" but it does not.

warrlocked, have you done a search on this? Press search and type "corner" in there, and get ready to read a whole lot of stuff. Theres a ton of info just waiting to be read.

http://forums.maxima.org/search.phtml

AFAIK, there is no mod for the '99 Max to make corner lights that come on when you signal. The '96 has a seperate switch in it to turn the corner on/off and the '99 does not.

He was wondering if you could have cornering lights added to a GXE...the type that light up bright on the corners when you turn on the turn signal. I think they are standard on the GLE and SE from 95-99.

I want to get the corners on my max brighter. I truly hate that dim light on the corner. Can I buy a brighter bulb for the corner or what?

First of all you cannot buy corners that are brighter you have to make them brighter by buying the XENON bulbs then rewire them so they will run higher wattage go here to buy then these are what I have in mine #1157 Eurolite XENON Crystal Bulbs made by toucanindustries they make ractive stuff
go here http://www.aieonline.com/

I hear the wiring is different on 99's but you get the idea.
I have a 97'and this is what I did!
Take the lens out. Remove the bulb from the socket.Take a small flathead srewdriver and pry up on the little black plastic piece while pushing up on the wire in
the back(black with the red stripe). This wire is the to work with. The other wire(black) is just a ground and there is no need to mess with it. The wire(black with red stripe)is soldered to the back of the little black plastic piece. Cut this wire off of where it is soldered to,keep up with the spring so you won't forget it. This
wire will be spliced to the other connection. I drilled a hole straight through the other side, through the solder and all and I took apart and old fuse holder, the flat
sides that look like a nail head this is where the contact point of the bulb will be. Drill a hole big enough in the plastic to slide the wire from the fuse holder through
about 18 ga. size. Splice the fuse holder wire with a butt splice to the wire(black with red stripe). Slide everything back into place and you should be set. The bulb
should shine brighter than it did in the beginning. All we are doing is lighting up the high side on this dual filament bulb,by swapping contact points in the socket.

Hope this helps if you need more help post or email me,William

<------not true,I have a 97'GXE if you have seen a MAXIMA like this then they probably rewired there lights also,I know 3rd gens that when you signal only the corner gets bright but after the signal is over they go back to "normal". Once you rewire them they will be "bright" all the time. It will look better to get the XENON bulbs also so it will look uniform. I have from the same place and kind of bulb:

#9004 Eurolite XENON Crystal Bulbs Headlights
#1157 Eurolite XENON Crystal Bulbs side markers
#194 Eurolite XENON Crystal Bulbs clear bumper lenses
#H3 Eurolite XENON Crystal Bulbs fog lights

It looks good to have all of your bulbs the same shade of brightness, sorry I don't have any pics but trust me
