anyone else used these higher wattage bulbs?

I've used APC bulbs with that wattage in my corner lamps. I also have the my corners rewired to burn brighter than stock.... My corner lens (although you couldn't tell by look'n at them) have dimples in it where the heat from the bulb was greatest. I personally think they burn too hot. My right corner lens keeps going out but not because the bulb has blown, but because the solder connecting the wires keeps melting.....at least thats my hypothesis. I have a friend who has the same "Brighter corners" Mod and he has dimples too. Didn't know till I told him to check, because as I said earlier, you can't really tell by look'n at them.

Sometimes if I hit a bump in the road the Right corner lamp will come back on. If I physically give the lamp a smack or two, that will usually bring them back on too. This is the reason I feel it is a soldering issue, I just haven't had the time to go in and look.
